About Inuyasha Characters

 Characters

Inuyasha

Taken: Suki

His Story

Inuyasha is a half demon, half dog demon to be percise. He fell in love with Kikyo, which later fell into death of Kikyo. Naraku turned them against eachother, and before Kikyo died she used a purification arow to hold Inuyasha on a tree for 50 years. After 50 years, Kagome came and took the arow out of him, and he awoke. Now, since the Sacred Jewl has been shattered and Inuyasha, Kagome, and a lot of other people/demons have joined them in the search for the shards.

Name Translation

Inu - Dog
Yasha - Demon

*Age: (Not including the 50 years pinned to a tree) Unknown,  but Takahashi says that his mindset is that of a 16 or 17 year old

* Personality: Quick tempered, uses rude language, arrogant but very thoughtful and emotional (although he seldom shows it to others). He has many inner conflicts, one of them is feeling responsible for Kikyou's death. He also doesn't quite know how to express his feelings for Kagome.

*Enemies: He has numerous enemies, but the two main enemies are his brother, Sesshoumaru, and Naraku, the man responsible for Kikyou's death. There is also Kouga, who  really likes Kagome, which has caused problems between Kagome and Inu-Yasha.

* Love interests: Obviously Kagome, but Inu-Yasha's lingering feelings for Kikyou has put a major strain on their relationship.

* Weaknesses: Because of his half demon, half human blood, he becomes fully human every new moon. He loses all of his demon characteristics (his hair turns black, his eyes get dark, his nose and ears are human, and he has no fangs or claws), but more importantly, he loses his super-human strength and capabilities, and can no longer get Tetsusaiga to transform. When morning comes, he changes back.

* Weapons: Tetsusaiga (sword), Sankon Tetsusou (soul scattering iron claw), Hijin Ketsusou (flying blade blood claws).

Kagome

Taken: Kagome

Her Story

Kagome was what you would call an normal teenager, but when she was pulled down an old misterious well on her property her life changed. a centipede demon, which 'bit' the shikon jewel out of her side, dragged her down the "bone eaters well" she was in the Feudal Japan. She had freed Inuyasha from Kikyo's spell, and then put somewhat of her own spell on him ( Prayer Beads). When ever she says sit, he sits, oddly, and painfully. Kagome is also the rencarnation of Kikyo. She can also 'see' were a piece of the shikon jewel is, because she was connected to it.when she rencarnated the jewel kikyo watched over was inside of her.

*Name: Higurashi Kagome

*age: 15

*Stats: She is the re-incarnation of Kikyou and exhibits the  same spiritual powers that she did. She lives in present-day Tokyo, but travels through the bone-eaters well back to the Sengoku Jidai. She and Inu-Yasha have been working together to collect the Shikon fragments.

*Enemies: She pretty much has the same enemies as everyone else (Naraku, Sesshoumaru, etc.) EXCEPT for Kouga, the wolf man who kidnapped her from Inu-Yasha (for some strange reason she sort of likes him, but not in that way).

*Love interests:  -Inu-Yasha (he's the only one that SHE is interested in unless she's getting even with him)

-people that like her are Kouga (as mentioned before) and a guy from her own time, Houjo ( gay music, lol), who is very naive and can't seem to take hints.

*Weapons: Bow and Arrow, mystical powers.

Miroku

"The Perverted Monk"

Taken

His Story

He's normaly refered to as the Pervted Monk, and he is a Pervted Monk. Aside from that he's very powerfull, with his Wind Tunnel. The Wind Tunnel is actually a curse put apon his family, by the evil Naraku, and can in time kill Miroku. As of now he's helping Inuyasha and Kagome in their journey. He has the strange habit of asking almost every woman he meets to bear his child with the exception of Sango(it seems he accually has RESPECT for her)he also gropes EVERY woman he gets within arms length of....over all he is a total pervert.

*Age: 19

*Enemies: Naraku is who he has been after all of his life b/c Naraku was the one who cursed his family with the 'wind tunnel' in every generation's hand.

*Love interests: Any good looking woman it would seem; he has asked every one he has run across to bear his child (except for Sango, which he later apoligized for). It's pretty clear that Sango cares about him, and that he cares for her, but he always ruins the moment with inappropriate behavior

* Weapons: Kazaana (air-rip)

Quick Reference

Age: 19

Race: Human

Occupation: Priest, monk, whatever (Being an Perve!!!)

Weapon: staff, Wind Tunnel

Shippou

Taken

His Story

Shippo is a fox demon. His father was killed by the Thunder Brothers. Now he travels with Kagome & Inuyasha in search for the Skikon Jewel Shards. He's a pest.

*Age: Probley around 8ish (He's at least young for a demon, ).

*Enemies: His enemies when we first met him were the thunder Brothers (who Inu-Yasha ended up killing), b/c they had killed his father for the Shikon fragment his father had. He now has the same enemies as everyone else does- Naraku, etc.

* Love Interests: He liked a little girl named Satsuki whom he helped. He is not in love with Kagome- I think he looks up to her more as a big sister.

*Weapons: His Kitsune magical powers, but, despite his ego, he is often afraid to fight.

Quick Reference

Sex: Male

Age: 8

Race: Fox Demon
(Kitsune)

Attack: Fox Fire

Sango

Taken

Her Story

* Age: 16

*Enemies: Naraku killed her father and her brother, then used her dead brother in a plot to gain Tetsusaiga and kill the others, so it is safe to say that she pretty much wants him dead. In the begining she thought Inuyasha was her enemy, but not currently.

*Love Interests: Well, lately her interest in Miroku has been more pronounced, but nothing to jump about. So far, this girl has had some issue problems, so I wouldn't be so quick to put her in a relationship. Personly, I think Miroku and Sango make a good couple.

*Weapons: Hiraikotsu (her boomerang) and Kirara (her two-tailed-cat)

Quick Reference

Sex: Female

Age: 16

Race: Human

Occupation: Youki
Exterminator

Weapon: Hiratsu
(Giant Boomerang)

Hates: Naraku

Loves: Kohaku ( her bro), Miroku ( ^_^ )

Naraku

Taken: narakuEVIL

His Story

Naraku is the result of a merging between a human and a few thousand miscellaneous youki. He is not the same as either of the ingredients, but he still loves the priestess Kikyo as he did when he was a human. He was completely immobile as a human, so Kikyo and her little sister Kaede tended to him. All he did was lay in a cave thinking about Kikyo's beauty, and it got a bit out of control. Naraku struggles with the fact that he, like his enemy Inuyasha, is a hanyo (half-demon). He is always trying to find ways to purge his humanity and strengthen his youki. His ultimate goal is to gather the Shikon shards in order to expell his human half and become a full demon - which is the same goal as Inuyasha's original one. He wants Inuyasha dead because he is an obstacle to this goal and also because Kikyo once loved him.

Naraku also has several forms. He usually appears as a kind of a voodoo doll (called a kugutsu) which is covered by a baboon skin. He manipulates this form from far away so that he cannot be directly injured. His other form is human in appearance, but he still has all the powers of a youkai. He actually stole this new look from a young village lord prior to episode 35.

Age: Well, let's see now- he was a man once named Onigumo, but since nobody knows how old he was, I'm not sure if you count that; but otherwise, since he was born from that, around 50 years.

*Enemies: Who hasn't he manipulated? He pretty much has p.o.ed everyone, but for the main purpose of the series, Inu-Yasha and Kikyou were the first to get killed (Both of them DID die, but now they are both alive again. Kinda weird a lot of ppl in this show die and become alive again, odd.). Also count everyone else in the series, whether they are good or bad (he doesn't like to leave anyone out).

*Love-Interests:  Who needs love interests when you're asexual (can reproduce by himself)? Actually, he is still in love with Kikyou because Onigumo is still in love with her, b/c when she helped him.

*Weapons: He can change forms, control puppets of himself, and now he can create new youkai (Kagura, Kanna, Juromaru, Kagaomaru, and many others) from himself.

* Weaknesses: He's HAN-YOU (half youkai), which means that he loses his youkai powers, and boy is he ugly when he does. ( never seen that happen, and don't want to)

Quick Reference

Sex: Male

Age: 50??

Occupation: Being Evil (he's really not good at doing anything else.... Welcome to McDondals how may i help you?........ That would be scary....)

Weapon: People

Hates: just about everyone, except his minons, and Kikyo

Loves: Kikyo (Well at leased Onigumo heart still does, that's why Naraku loves her)

Kouga

Not Taken Yet

His Story

Kouga is proud and violent, but loyal to his wolf tribe. He openly professes his love for Kagome and thinks that she will someday be his wife. He and Inuyasha are constantly arguing. Kagome protects him from Inuyasha, which only gets Inuyasha more angry. Kouga is over-confident in his abilities, especially since his main power comes from the shards in his legs. He is always getting beat up by Kagura. But on the upside, he shows up whenever Kagome needs rescuing that Inuyasha can't handle alone.

*Age:  probably 16 or 17

*Enemies: Inu-Yasha of course, except that it's more of a rivalry over Kagome. Naraku is his enemy also for killing his friends and setting him up to kill Inu-Yasha.

*Love-Interests: He's appointed himself as Kagome's man, and even though she doesn't feel the same way, she tries to keep him and Inu-Yasha from fighting by letting him get away. He oringaly was engaged to an Female wolf demon before he met Kagome, her name was Ayame ( more info on her below)

*Weapons: He's super fast and really strong. He also uses Shikon shards to increase his power ( 3 all together, 2 in legs, and one in right arm).

*Weaknesses: He's not the brightest demon in the world. He's pretty forgetful (he once forgot about Kagome being in danger until one of his underlings reminded him- pretty comedic lol). Personly, I think he has a big ego.

Ayame - a female wolf demon who was engaged to Kouga since she was a child. She has some fighting ability and decent speed. He saved her from a bird demon and promised to marry her when she came back from her training. The problem with this is that Kouga forgot his promise and engaged himself to Kagome. Ayame has it in for Kagome since she sees her as a rival for Kouga's affection. First appeared in Episode 83.

Kikyo

Her Story

Taken: Katie

*Age: (not including the 50 years of being dead) about 17

*Enemies: She's pretty messed up now, so no one is really sure what her purpose is, b/c she says she is on Inu-Yasha's side, but then she tries to kill him and taken him down to hell w/ her. She said she was going to destroy Naraku, and she doesn't like Kagome at all (she keeps trying to kill her, something with her being her rencarantion).

*Love-Interests: Kikyou and Inu-Yasha were in love in their former lives, and she still seems to retain some feeling for him, but she knows that he likes Kagome, which creates some problems (like her trying to kill Kagome).

*Weapons: Bow and Arrow, mystical powers, Shini-dama-chuu (dead soul insects, the drangon looking things).

*Weaknesses: Without dead souls of women, Kikyou can't survive (....... Just.....wish.....she ....would.....dies).

Quick Reference

Sex: Female

Age: 18

Race: Human ( a dead one)

Occupation: Priestess (Miko)

Hates: Inuyasha, Kagome, Naraku

Loves: Inuyasha  (Odd she loves the guy, and hates him the same time)

    The Two Sides of Kikyo:

Kikyo is really two different characters. The first Kikyo was a strong and noble priestess who fell in love with Inuyasha. She was given the Shikon Jewel by a village of youkai (demon) exterminators so that she could purify its evil and protect it. She was a master archer and healer. That Kikyo is fatally wounded in the first episode. Before she died, she told her sister Kaede to bury the Jewel with her, so that it could do no more damage. The Jewel was not seen again for fifty years, until it was removed from Kagome's body. This is the main reason that most people believe that Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation.

Kagura

Taken

Her Story

Kagura sprung from Naraku as a full grown woman. She is called his detachment, which is similar to a child, but she is a full demon. She fights using wind attacks and travels on a feather.

She has a distinctly different personality from Naraku, and does not enjoy listening to him. But, Naraku holds her heart and therefore controls her life. If she disobeys him and gets caught, she dies.

Name Translation

Kagura: A performance of classical ceremonial music and dance. The performance serves to pacify, console, and give pleasure to a deity. At shrines, kagura is performed by miko (priestess). This name is important in relation to the character's role, since she in fact exists to please Naraku.

Sex: Female

Race: Wind Youki

Age: few months

Weapon: Wind, Kanna

Hates: Naraku

Loves: Herself

 * A little Spoiler*

Kagura also knows what day Inuyasha will become human every month, but she has chosen not to reveal it to Naraku. She has also been known to let Inuyasha get by her without much of a fight. I don't think she has much faith in his power, since she seems to run to Sesshomaru every time she gets the chance, but she also knows that Narkau wants Inuyasha dead so she tries to prevent his wish from coming true.

Kouga is pretty hell-bent on destroying Kagura, since she is responsible for killing most of his tribe. But in her defense, she only did it under orders from Naraku. She secretly hopes that either Inuyasha or Sesshomaru will defeat Naraku so that she can be free to live her own life. She has also offered Sesshomaru some Shikon shards in exchange for Naraku's death; however, Sesshomaru refused.

Sesshomaru

Taken

His Story

Sesshomaru is also known by fans as "Fluffy" ^_^. He is Inuyasha's older brother, and a full dog demon (youkai). He enjoys fluffy boas, being evil, and bossing around his servant Jaken. By the way, Jaken is the little green demon that follows Sesshomaru around. He feels like he owes Sesshomaru since his people were saved, so he follows Sesshomaru looking for an opportunity to repay him. The name means "rock, paper, scissors".

*Enemies: Inu-Yasha WAS number one on his list, that is until Naraku ticked him off royally. He is Inu-Yasha's half brother (they had the same father)- Sesshoumaru is full youkai (demon, a dog demon).

*Love-Interests: What love? Who has he ever cared about except himself? The only human he's cared somewhat about is Rin.

*Weapons: Tenseiga (sword of healing, and bring back the dead), Dokkasou (poison flower claw), and Toukijin, his new sword made from Goshinki's fangs (which were able to break apart Tetsusaiga).

Quick Reference

Sex: Male (Yes he's not a girl! )

Race: Dog Demon

Age: older than Inuyasha, no one knows for sure

Weapon: Claws, Tenseiga

Hates: Inuyasha, Naraku

Loves: Rin (who knows, maybe someone else besides himself!!)

Reasons he hates Inuyasha

He claims to hate Inuyasha for several reasons:

  • Inuyasha is only a half demon, therefore he is weak.
  • Inuyasha fell in love with a human (Kikyo) and allowed himself to get sealed to a tree by her.
  • As a result of this, Inuyasha didn't show up to defend their father, Spoiler warning).
  • Inuyasha inherited the sword that was able to cause damage (Tetsusaiga), whereas he got the "crappy" one that could only bring back the dead (Tenseiga).
  • Their father's burial ground was hidden in Inuyasha's eye; it was deliberately hidden from him. What an insult!
  • I know too much spoilers about him..... and I don't want to give it all away!!! i

Description: He's a full inuyoukai who is very, very strong. He hates his brother and tries to kill him, not only to get Tetsusaiga but because he simply despises seeing the blood of his father mixed with that of a human.

Sesshoumaru has a large puff that sits on his shoulder when he's in his humanoid form(or maybe it's his tail, who knows?). He brought a little human girl, Rin, back to life by using Tenseiga and now he protects her and she follows him around. Jaken is his toad youkai servant.

He has Tenseiga, a healing sword that can bring people back from the dead that his father gave to him as a present- it's the match to the Tetsusaiga but Sesshoumaru wants a destructive sword like Tetsusaiga. He also mastered Toujikin, a evil sword made out of a fang of one of Naraku's detachments that broke Tetsusaiga- it created by one of the dismissed apprentices of Toutousai, the master who created Tetsusaiga and Tenseiga.

Last but not least, he has many, many fangirls who love to call him Fluffy. Half of the fangirls are torn between him and Legolas. (I am not one of the fangirls!)
